    I read the first one 20+ years ago. I kinda felt that way then. The commitment of 14 large books kept me from jumping in but now that I have I’ve enjoyed it.

    Believe it or not, it hasn’t felt like filler or that any of it was unnecessary

    I appreciate that some of it is cooked into the world building, saidar vs saidin, there’s good lore reasons for the weird men vs women stuff. Also the Two Rivers kids are naive villagers but damn I just want to [itch bay] slap Nynaeve

    I highly recommend the audiobooks. Was a good way to get through the story and didn’t feel like a slog. There was a noticeable drop off to me when Sanderson took over at the end after Jordan died.

    Matt to me had the most interesting story line. Moiraine and Aviendha had the better female arcs imo.
